Does anyone make frame shelves?

Have you seen the beautiful pictures of the store opening in Houston, TX? It's called By Design Scrapbook Boutique. Here is one of the amazing pictures of the store.

Where can I buy a smaller version of this frame with shelves? I am totally coveting this!!

Ch#9 Crd #3

The layout is from a Tami Wood card. And Simone (check out her blog by clicking here), yes I did dust off those colored pencils!

My favorite part of Amuseapalooza

Amuseapalooza is almost here. It has been a fun and educational time leading up to the big event! I want to thank A Muse for finally prompting me to get my blog started. If you take a look, you'll see I never posted anything until the Amuseapalooza Ambassador Competition commenced. What I have discovered along the way is: I love blogging and my fellow bloggers. I can't believe how rewarding it has been to make new friends and join this amazing sisterhood! A funny side effect has been that when I now hear the word "candy", my first thought is a package of ribbon, paper and stamps! **wink** Thanks to everyone for all the encouragement and fun! Sorry if this seems premature, but my parents are arriving soon and I may need to slow down my pace on the blog for a week or so! (Don't forget I have blog candy that I am pulling for on Sunday!)

DH Card #2

O.K. folks, I know you've been waiting for me to unveil more cards by the now notorious David, my DH! Here it is...(drumroll)...

He used ribbon on the mummy for fraying gauze!
And there is blog candy down below!!

ATC Card for Amy's Swap

I've been working on this for a few days and think I finally have it right. The paper is from Chatterbox. The brad is Stampin' Up! All stamps are A Muse. I don't remember where I bought the spiral paper clips.

Challenge #9 Card #2

I made this card for my DH. Did you see his card creation last week? He really is a great guy and sometimes (too often) I forget to tell him! Don't forget there is blog candy here this week.

A Muse Challenge #9 Card #1

I decided to try a card A Muse style. I usually like lots of details, but I thought I'd give simplicity a try :)! The ribbon is from American Craft. So what do you think, should I keep it simple or keep up the details?

Summer Blog Candy Time!!

Hello! I love the stamps and ribbon at Michael's $1 section. Plus, a little Martha Stewart added to the mix! I will also send an A Muse card that I have posted on the blog. Just leave a comment telling me what are your favorite 2 blogs! I will pick a winner on Sunday!!

Challenge 9 - Ribbon Fun!

Use ribbon on your cards this week and post them at amuseapalooza.typepad.com. This week, the winner will receive a "Golfer’s Delight" stamp assortment from A Muse including 6 wood-mounted stamps!

Featured Stamping Artist - Tami Wood

Tami Wood is an amazingly talented stamper. She is generous with fellow stampers and modest about her gifts! She has an incredible ability for putting just the perfect details into her work. Let's all encourage her to get a blog going! Here are some highlights from a recent interview with Tami Wood. This was not easy to get her to agree to (she is so NOT aware of just how talented she is!)

Q: How long have you been stamping?

A: "Too long to remember" **wink** About 12-15 years.

Q: What was your 1st stamping experience?

A: "I was at my nephew's Power Ranger birthday party and I commented on a large gift my sister's friend had brought to the party. It was a kid's chair (Power Ranger of course) in a large box and she had stamped the gift wrap. I have always loved pretty ribbon, giftwrap, partyware, and stickers. This little party planted the seed to my stamping addiction!! I wish I could remember the year!! My nephew will turn 15 this summer so I guess I've been stamping a long time!! Then, I was invited to a D.O.T.S. party (now Close To My Heart) by the same girl who stamped the wrapping paper. I still have my first stamp from the D.O.T.S. party and it was a fish stamp!"

Q: How did you find the stamp company A Muse? (Tami is a certified instructor for A Muse)

A: "I went on a stamping retreat up in Northern MN over President's Day weekend in the winter of 2005 with a group of stampers called "The Sassy Stampers." On the way home, my best friend and I stopped at Create-A-Card Studio which was in Aitkin, Minnesota (it is now in Brainerd, Minnesota) for the third time that weekend!! This is a wonderful store owned by Laurel Ford. While I was browsing the store, Laurel was unpacking her newest A Muse order that had just been delivered and she gave me the A Muse stamp, Fancy egg. I remember I did not want to accept it for free but good 'ole Laurel insisted! I used the egg stamp right away on one of the envelopes during a stamping class and my students loved it. After class we headed over to Artsy Tartsy in Plymouth, Minnesota to check out the A Muse stamps. I remember my second A Muse stamp was the tiny party hat. One stamp led to five, five led to 10, and the rest is history. I would guesstimate I must have about 700-800 A Muse stamps in my collection now. Ohhh, the very first A Muse stamp I ever bought was from Laurel's old shop and it was the large fun star. I just bought it because I thought it was funky and I remember sneaking it in on one of my card designs during a class I taught at Anchor Paper in Minneapolis. That was a BIG no no but I still did it because I wanted my students to stamp with this cool star stamp I had bought at my favorite stamp shop!!! I did not know anything about A Muse stamps way back then. When I told Laurel this story she gave me the tiny star as a gift down memory lane! So in a nutshell, I blame Laurel for my vast A Muse collection. Its all her fault!!" I think Laurel is awesome! You can order stamps from her at StudioCard@aol.com.

Q: What is your favorite A Muse stamp?

A: "The Lacy Oval Block"

Q: Why don't you have a blog yet?

A: "I'm too shy. I am a blog reader. I find blogworld to be very addicting but its fun!! I kind of blame it on my family as they bought me a new laptop for Christmas and I love it."

Q: Where where you born?

A: Manchester, New Hampshire

Q: Where do you get your inspiration?

A: "Well, Liz Sewald taught me a lot about stamping and I'm a huge fan of her work. I find inspiration all over...fabric, pretty napkins, backgroud paper, the A Muse designers and instructors, from blogs, magazines, other stampers including teachers, my sisters, my friends, my students...everywhere. I can not forget children. I love teaching kids and its amazing how creative they are in my classes or at birthday parties. I love teaching because I really enjoy making my students happy."

Q: What hobbies do you enjoy?

A: "Traveling, shopping, card swaps, taking classes and I'm really addicted to ATCs (Artist Trading Cards). I really enjoy the ocean, seafood, and stamping."

Q: How long have you lived in Minnesota?

A: "We (her family) moved here over Labor Day weekend in 1986. I'm a Minnesotan now!!! You betcha!! Ha ha!!"

Q: Do you have a favorite blog?

A: "It's a toss up between Misty Mawn and Christine Adolph.

Q: Who is your favorite stamp illustrator?

A: Hands down David Walker. I'm a big fan of Nina too from A Muse.

Tami teaches at Artsy Tartsy in Plymouth, Minnesota as well as Artsy Tartsy in Savage, Minnesota. You can also take classes from her at Create-A-Card Studio in Brainerd, Minnesota. She also does private classes and any kind of party that involves rubber stamping. She has taught people of all ages including both sexes. Tami has only submitted her work twice and each time she was published. First in the Rubber Stamper magazine and then her A Muse cards were in an issue of Take Ten 2006. Tami can't remember the exact details but she still has the magazines. You can email her at rswoodey2@aol.com Here are a few of her cards...

ch#8 crd#10 Have Another Latte On Me Day

This is Curly with a caffeine makeover! I love Alice in Wonderland, and this reminds me of the tea party. My husband thinks Einstein and Don King had a child and this version of Curly is the result! The stamps are A*Muse, the words are Rosie's Roadshow, and the hair is by Q-tip. **wink** Love those words!! They can be applied to so many parts of life. LOL! In what parts of your life is "how many are too many" applicable? For me, it is dishes, purses and stamps!

Ch#8 Crd#9 Act Too Big For Your Britches Day!

My husband is from Long Island and I bought this Rosie's Roadshow stamp with him in mind. I love the A*Muse Caterpillar stamp and how he's looking straight at you... It reminded me of when I lived in NJ and worked in NYC and I saw this adorable boy in a stroller. I smiled at him and he said "what are you looking at?" Little beings with lots of attitude :)!!

Mallory donates her hair to Locks Of Love

Mallory decided to donate her pride and joy to Locks of Love today. It was a hard decision to make because she really prided herself on her beautiful tresses. When she would go in for previous haircuts, she would ask the stylist to show how much they were cutting off for fear that it would be too much! One year ago, our neighbor and dear friend, Jeannine VanBrunt passed away from cancer. Mallory decided she wanted to do this in memory of Jeannine. I am so proud of her and I think she looks beautiful!

Oh My!! I Won!!

I have so enjoyed posting everyone who has won A*Muse prizes during A*Museapalooza! Now I can add my name to the list! I am so excited. I feel like I just won Powerball. I am so excited! Have I mentioned that I am so excited!!! Here is what I won!!! Thanks so much A*Muse!!

Charlie Brown Kite card Ch#7 Card #5

This card was inspired by the tree that always ate Charlie Brown's kite. I threaded some hemp through the tree so it would looked tangled in there. Can you tell I loved making diaramas out of shoe boxes as a kid. I knew those skills would come in handy someday. Did any of you like doing those? My girls have never even made one! It's a lost "art" :)!!

Challenge #7 Card #4

I'm feeling Patriotic this evening! I am from upstate NY and used to work in Manhattan. I once hosted a large event at Ellis Island (I used to work for a human rights organization)and if you've never seen the Statue of Liberty before, it is breathtaking. You can imagine what the immigrants back in the 1800's must have felt as they were approaching New York harbor! All stamps are A*Muse, but the outlines which is a GinaK stamp. These work very well with the Marvy punches. I am loving the result! I masked the Statue of Liberty to get the fireworks around her. All paper, ink and brads are Stampin' Up! The glitter is Stickles again!!

Challenge #7 Card #3

Hello! This was another time consumer... I was playing paper dolls again! The background is Whisper White placed through the Cuttlebug and sponged with Cool Caribbean (almost retired boo hoo :(!) I cut out the clothes and hung it on embroidery thread. The ground is Certainly Celery. The words have been glittered. I used real glitter and am covered!! All stamps are A*Muse, what do you think?

Blog Candy tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the big day, I'll be pulling for blog candy. I can't wait to see who the lucky winner will be! Make sure you're entered by posting a comment below. You gotta be in it to win it!

This and other fun information can be found at blogthings!

Your Life Path Number is 8

Your purpose in life is to help others succeed

You are both a natural leader and a natural success. You are also a great judge of character.
You have a head for business and finance. You know how to make money.
A great visionary, you can see gold where other people see nothing.

In love, you are very generous - with gifts, time, and guidance.

You love to inspire people, but it can be frustrating when they don't understand your vision.
Great success comes easily for you. But so does great failure, as you are very reckless.
You are confident, and sometimes this confidence borders on arrogance.

Peeps Challenge #7 Card #2

O.K. - I think this is funny. Am I alone in this? I can always find a Seinfeld episode to correlate with any life situation. When I was discussing this card with my DH, all I could think of was when a fellow comedian was offered a joke from Seinfeld and he said "it's gold Jerry". I love these guys "peeping" out of the holes. I'm still laughing. What do you think? Is it just hitting me as funny because it's late?

Pick-A-Petal Tulip

This is a tri fold card done with the Stampin' Up! Pick-A-Petal set. My DH thought it would make a great tulip...I think he's right! The colors are Certainly Celery and Pink Passio. I used Iridescent Ice embossing powder on the petals. Thanks for looking!

For this card I embossed the background with the A Muse stamp "fun star sm" and Stampin' Up!'s Iridescent Ice embossing powder. The paper is from Pheobe Basic Grey. The brads are from Stampin' Up! and the ribbon is from the Gypsy collection from Basic Grey. It is raining and storming here in Minnesota today and stamping is making the day much brighter!

Challenge #6 Card #1

I was totally inspired by the embossing challenge. I haven't embossed in awhile. My upline Kathleen Hopperstad taught me how to make dog tags out of Stampin' Up! punches and layers of Sterling Silver embossing powder from Stampin' Up! The PP is from Basic Grey Pheobe and the sentiment is punched out by a fantastic punch from McGill. Thanks for looking!
